Its a Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood...Won't You Be My Neighbour A.K.A. Pit Bull Attack on the Way to Youth Group

Since some of our teens don't feel safe walking in their neighbourhood, we often will walk them over to the church for events and back again. Last friday as we were walking to an event, one of the boys was running behind us and came to a full stop flat on the ground beside us. This was wierd but even wierder was the pit bull that was on top of him! Thank Jesus himself the pit bull was muzzled and not aggressive (I kind of think he was playing although he did jump out of his backyard and chased him down!). The owners were right there to get him and other than a scrapped knee and a crazy story we made it over okay.

Scarily, the next night there were shots fired in the community. We were greeted with police lights flashing and two officers (one with a rifle in hand) as we tried to park our car.

Have I mentioned before how amazing our youth are and how much we love them?

"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." (Philippians 4:6ish)
