Lighting up the Darkness

I had 3 beautifully bright moments in a otherwise dark week.

1. Seeing Ellie, Kevin & Joshua Firth was God's perfect gift before the bleekness. Like a delicious gulp of air before going underwater. Long ago, I left part of my heart in The Falls with you...thanks for taking such good care of it!
I know the picture is overexposed but check out that hair!

2. Making apple crisp at Gurl's Nite. Thanks Mum for the fabulous microwave recipe (we don't have a stove at the church!)!

3. Praying at Paulina & company's new make-up school 'Wink' which is right downtown. Reminding me that God is so good to us...time and time again (even when I forget).

Mostly Gone (if not entirely gone at this point)

Gone

The view from the store I work at...not so cheery to look at all day. This used to be Duke's bike shop which was here for 95 years. This has affected me way more than I would have predicted. I actually shed some tears when I saw these live.

I think I'm in Shock

We Smell Smoke

So I'm going to call this a miracle...no one was hurt in the fire at Queen & Portland. That is right across the street from my work which is just a 2 minute walk from our apartment. Those buildings would have been full of people. Apparently Duke's the bike shop across the street from my store has collapsed. Thank God Himself everyone is alright.

My store is closed for the day...I'm not sure what will happen in the next few days.
