The Communal Cat

I've named this cat Cahoots. I'm sure hundreds have named him other things. Cahoots hangs out on our Queen Street West corner every day rain or shine looking for love.
This cat is a heart breaker. He must lure 50 people a day to pet him, wonder if he is lost and contemplate taking him home. Yes, he has an owner who works/lives at a local shop...but it isn't enough for Cahoots.

Cahoots has an associate. A black cat that doesn't let people get very near him.

My observation...Bobby is Cahoots and I am the nameless cat.

SPUD PHiL SiLENT bird...

Okay. So I've been meaning to put this photo up for a while. This is what Bobby and I see on our way to work.

Some things I find interesting about this picture are:
1. This is where the Queen West fire occurred.
2. During the fire clean up we saw stereo systems, furniture, dvd's, clothing, etc. get ripped apart and thrown around by heavy machinery (I can't think of their names right now...but you know...the claw one) just behind the heavily signed boards.
3. Looting got so bad in the wreckage that police camera's got installed (see white thing on the light post).
4. The camera's didn't deter the graffiti artists...it seemed to inspire them. There is heavy tagging around the inside parimeter of the fired area. My favourite piece is the "SPUD PHiL SiLENT bird..." which was done with a paint roller just out of the sight line of the police camera.

Breathes of Fresh Air

Bobby was at the C&MA's general conference in Ottawa so I thought I'd tag along. I'm kind of a 'political fan' but since parliament wasn't in session I just took some great walks. My favourite one was over to Quebec. I found a big rock and plunked myself down. In between sighs and deep breaths I soaked in the view. Water, boats, ducks, foam and sunshine. Lots to love!

Sometimes Things Seem Like a Big Mess

Front Door VI

Unless things improve on our door, this will be my last door post. Bobby had to cover up a swear this time. Our door is so ugly...it makes me miss the huge yellow skull that covered the entire door a few years ago. Hopefully a artist will come take pity on us.
