Say It Ain't So...Back Fat in a Hammock

Sorry for not posting so frequently. Our internet connection thru our fabulous neighbour Matt sadly ended when he moved out. We miss you Matt!

Just wanted you know we haven't been loafing around like the cat!

The Narnia Windows at The Bay at Yonge & Queen...Here Again for Christmas!

Everyone should try to check these out! The displays have motion and lots of cool detail. Totally worth the drive to Toronto...and extra incentive to visit us since its just a 20 minute walk from our apartment!
Lucy looks into the wardrobe & spooky Mr. Tumnus is waiting. Not exactly how I remember the scene...but looks cool in the window display!
At Mr. & Mrs. Beaver's dam, the girls have some sardine sandwiches while Edmund, way too overexposed, sneeks up the stairs.
Noooooo....poor Mr. Tumnus.

Aslan in all his plush glory helps Peter with his chopping sword actions at the lionsmained Jadis.
The coronation ceremony where Susan moves her head side to side (telling?) and Lucy swings her stubby legs.

Cat on a Cool Tar Roof...And I Think to Myself What a Wonderful Fall

Pain & Sorrow Fill the Air...Happy Birthday

Well it all started with being woken up by gunshots Saturday morning at 3:15am. I got up and watched events unfold. I saw a man do a celebratory dance on the corner (it looked like he had just scored a touchdown...very 'rejoices in evil'), then police, paramedics, a man on a gurney and firemen searching for bullets. Apparently 4 men were randomly shot. 3 in the leg and 1 in the back. None of their injuries were lifethreatening.

Then I left for work 45 minutes early and found that there was a fatal accident on the highway. Since they closed the Gardiner as I was on it, I was a half hour late.

Then my locker at work broke. Okay so that sounds soo petty now.

Anyhow, life is good tho short. My 'Jesus died and rose again' birthday is over and there is lots to celebrate and appreciate. I am truly 'blessed up'!

I'm Glad You Asked!

Maria Dunsmore said..."I love the term "street involved" is that something you coined together or the new politically correct way?"

"Street Involved people" refers to people who live on the street or make a living on the street. This includes panhandlers, squeegie kids, drug dealers, prostitutes, the "hey buddy...wanna buy a watch" vendors, artists and buskers, etc. Many of these people do not actually live on the street but live in shelters, rooming houses, etc. Now where we live we only have a few "street tourists"...those who visit the street life...most are there day in and day out.

No, we did not invent the term "street involved" but we are glad to talk with them, look them in the eye and smile. We are privileged to call some of them by name and consider them friends. They make us better people and we are blessed to know them. We've learned so much from them....street involved people have much to teach us, if only we'll listen.

If Sears Sold Real Old School Gear in the Wish Book...

When we were walking down Queen Street, Davin (a street involved fellow we know) saw Bobby in this outfit & said, "You're dressed as THE MAN!"
I don't know what's going on with him but it seemed to be a moving experience for him. God truly works & draws people to Him in mysterious ways!

Ode to Macaulay Culkin AKA The Home Alone Kid

Yes, I went to work at IKEA in this outfit. I'm surprised how many people don't have a sense of humour. I couldn't stop laughing at myself.

My costume for work came because I was looking for entertainment & I didn't want to wash a work shirt. I am always big on costume that you need to explain or figure out & that I can pin on myself. The fake hair took things to a whole new level for me. But I loved the Sharlene Cave-Brown-Cave-esque do (but her hair was much much cuter!!) that finished off the Kevin McCallister look.

I figure I had two fans. The first was Bobby, (who helped me bring my idea to life) he had this crazy goofy smile on him when he spied me walking up Queen Street & the other was a 3-4 year old boy who just started giggling when he saw me & even came over to give my feet a squeeze. Awwwwe.
